Welcome to Will to Live, a RP set in the fictional town of Monroeville, Maine. Orginally a small fishing village turned college town turned tourist trap, long-time locals are now outnumbered by newcomers in their ever-expanding hometown. Plots are primarily member-driven, with a wide range of interesting and diverse characters to interact with. Feel free to jump right in; fresh perspectives and ideas are always welcome.

It doesn't cross Cora's mind that she's being manipulative. This isn't about Jenny, not right now; it's a repetitive motion, it's what her body does when she's on autopilot. It doesn't occur to her that that's why Jenny starts playing again.

Cora glances over her shoulder into the hallway, looking absently for Regulus before she pulls her head back in and returns her unfocused eyes to rest on Jenny.

She can't pick out what song she's playing. It's nice, though, even as slow as it is.

She tears a scab and winces, grunting softly.

She stops when she sees it out of the corner of her eye. Thinks if you're going to do this

to me

then you should also...
)

her fingers stop, suddenly and coldly. She isn't looking at Cora, she's still looking down at her fingers frozen over the keys. "Stop that," she says, feeling like something is choking her. "Just cut it out."

Cora stops moving, although she doesn't retract her hands from her sleeves. She stares at the back of Jenny's head and she's quiet for a moment. It's silent.

"Why can you hurt me," she says quietly, "and I can't?"

Jenny's eyes widen at that, fingers curl under themselves to dig her nails in her palms. She's hesitating, horrified by the words and rattling them through her mind. Is that true? Is that true is that true is that...

no.

(yes?)

no she can't believe that.

(but maybe...)

"I just want you to get out of my head," she says, "you aren't supposed to be here, this is supposed to be a place without you," and there's the sound of choking in her voice. She's trying to keep from crying.

(Clearly, it doesn't work

she wipes at her eyes with the back of her hands, and they come back slick.)

#suicidal ideation

Make no mistake: Cora Sterling is crying too, although she barely realizes it.

She inhales deeply.

"It's a small town," she says weakly, her voice cracking. But she looks out into the hallway again, looks for Regulus. She feels guilty - always, always guilty for what she's done to Jenny. She feels like a weapon, something that only hurts people.

And for the thousandth time, she thinks I should go

end it

be done with all of this.

She chokes on air and turns, speaking one last time before she leaves the room:

"Your music is beautiful."

What she gets in reply is another crashing sound of Jenny's hands hitting the keys of the piano. Off key, off tune, and as ugly as she wants it to be.
