Welcome to Will to Live, a RP set in the fictional town of Monroeville, Maine. Orginally a small fishing village turned college town turned tourist trap, long-time locals are now outnumbered by newcomers in their ever-expanding hometown. Plots are primarily member-driven, with a wide range of interesting and diverse characters to interact with. Feel free to jump right in; fresh perspectives and ideas are always welcome.

Character Profiles
Since our application is so short, here you can find the extended character profiles. THIS IS NOT THE APPLICATION! These are extra profiles that you may fill out at your leisure as you roleplay. Just copy the correct template for your character and post in the appropriate subcategory.

Here's the place for all our fun little in-character things, which are a great way for your character to interact with a lot of others in a short period of time. We have IC introductions for new characters, news & gossip for catching up on what's happening in town, phones & social media for digital interactions, and of course a general chat section.

This is our area where you can RP anything and everything without it affecting anything else on the board. Want to try out a new character before you create them? Or perhaps you want to play out an existing character's childhood or future or try them out in a different setting, genre, or time period. You can do it all here.

Monroe Square
A pleasant little place located in the center of town, the square is home to several quaint shops and cafes, surrounding the actual "square", which is just a patch of grass on which a fountain statue of a whale stands, the pride and joy of the small town.

The Plaza
The Plaza is an open air shopping center that can be found a little ways out from the town's center, though it's easily accessible by car or the public bus system. It is home to several local businesses and a grocery store. It's not large or fancy, but the locals rely on it for their shopping needs.

St. Oswald's Memorial Hospital
Because it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. While not the greatest hospital in the country, St. Oswald's is known outside of Monroeville mostly for its exceptional cardiology program.

Suburbia
Here is where a majority of Monroeville's population resides. This area is made up of mostly single-family homes in varying degrees of wealth depending on how far out you go from the center of town. There are also a few small garden-style apartment buildings and townhomes here and there.

Cherry Street
Also known as the bad side of town, Cherry Street is technically a long road on the outskirts of Monroeville, although the name is usually used to refer to its various alleys and side streets as well. There are some parts of it that aren't all that bad, surprisingly. However, its reputation keeps Monroeville's more respectable citizens away, especially after dark.

Waterfront
The coastline of Monroeville is a mixture of rocky, dark-sanded beaches and steep cliffs that overlook the ocean. The main stretch of beach, a fifteen minute walk from Monroe Square, is home to a boardwalk that bustles with tourists during the summer months. Further up the coast is Whales Way, where Monroeville's wealthy own private beaches. To the south can be found the busy harbor and Monroeville's zoo & aquarium.

Rural Monroeville
While not technically within the town limits, the area immediately surrounding it is known as rural Monroeville, if only because there's no other town close enough to lay claim to it. There are a few large farmhouses here and there, but it's mostly woods and nature.

University of Maine at Monroeville
Home of the Mighty Meese Moose, this is the local branch of the University of Maine school system. Located about 15 minutes northeast of Monroeville, it is mostly known for its above average science and technology programs, though it boasts a wide selection of majors for its students to choose from.

Monroe College
A private institution with a very respectable national ranking, Monroe College's constantly expanding campus is located 20 minutes west of downtown Monroeville. Its humanities and social sciences programs are particularly distinguished, and it offers several graduate programs to those looking to earn advanced degrees. Its basketball team, the Ragin' Whales, is a force to be reckoned with.
